Laminates are constructed of several layers. A protective wear layer to help against scratches and every day wear and tear, a decorative layer of the photographed design, an HDF (high density fibre board) core and finally a balancing layer. Laminate is a tough product and perfect for the authentic timber look without the timber price, or maintenance associated with timber flooring. There is a specialised range available for wet area use with a ten year warranty.
